Remember Sanssouci

A multi-generational story set in Potsdam, Germany, during the final months of the Second World War, and addresses life on the German home front, both pre- and post-war.

In Potsdam, Germany, 1945, Ingrid, her family, and the other residents at number ninety-nine Viktoriastrae are preparing for battle. With their every movement monitored, headstrong Ingrid can often be found escaping the war in her sanctuary, Sanssouci Park. When the Gestapo target her and her family, there are dangerous repercussions.

After Potsdam has been heavily bombed, the residents are forced to move into the cellar and Ingrid risks her life to help strangers in the park. When the small community at number ninety-nine meet their Soviet liberators, Ingrid sacrifices herself to protect them but then has to take drastic action to save herself.
