It is not easy to know James Supercave. Their web presence is clipped and understated. Coming from a firm belief that the music speaks for itself, Supercave’s debut album, Better Strange, on a six-panel softpak CD, is the only introduction they’ll allow. Better Strange affirms Supercave as both figment and figurehead for a genre not yet defined, exploiting the edge of the pop idiom, cheating in psych-rock with thick, low end grooves normally reserved for funk and soul.
