Blue Mitchell’s run of albums for Blue Note in the 1960s are considered some of the great jazz recordings of the era, however his early ’70s output following his departure from the label are often overlooked. ‘Blue Mitchell’ is a fantastic jazz soul set featuring a stellar line up of Black Jazz recording artists, including Walter Bishop Jr., Doug Sides, Larry Gales and the legendary Jimmy Forrest.
