Imbued with warmth and swing, Johnathan Blake’s 2021 Blue Note debut Homeward Bound was a celebration of life and legacy that introduced the drummer-composer’s masterful modern jazz quintet Pentad featuring alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, vibraphonist Joel Ross, keyboardist David Virelles, and bassist Dezron Douglas. This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
