Mozart: String Quintets, K515 & 516

Recorded across concerts at London’s famed Wigmore Hall in 2025, the quartet is joined by internationally celebrated violist Timothy Ridout, whose participation brings a fresh dimension to the inner voices of these two masterpieces. While this is Ridout’s recording debut with the Takcs, appearing for the final time in a 51-year career with the Takcs is founder member and outgoing cellist Andrs Fejr. Written by Mozart in 1787, these two well-known quintets occupy a singular place in the chamber repertoire, balancing the lightness of the gallant style with a profound, often searching emotional depth.
